TEXAS RALLIES FOR PEACE

STATEWIDE MARCH AND RALLY October 2, 2004

On the 135th anniversary of the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, Texans throughout the state will march rally for peace in Austin. This rally is intended to emphasize the ongoing wars as a central issue in the upcoming election while at the same time broadening and deepening the call to peace at a time when Americans are thinking most deeply about the direction of our country and it's involvement in wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere. The Texas Rallies for Peace will emphasize nonviolent principles, will dramatize the continuing crisis, and to solidify Texas' commitment to the struggle to end war.
